Since 1 April 2023, the Central Government’s Dr. Ambedkar Inter-Caste Marriage Scheme has been merged into a Centrally Sponsored Scheme. You should not apply directly to the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation anymore. How to Apply for the Central Government Inter-Caste Marriage Scheme

Step 1: Check Your Eligibility

Before applying, make sure you meet the basic conditions:

  • One spouse belongs to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community.
  • The other spouse belongs to a non-SC community.
  • The marriage is legally valid and registered.

Step 2: Register Your Marriage

Prepare the following documents:

  • Aadhaar Card of both husband and wife
  • Marriage Registration Certificate
  • SC Caste Certificate of the SC spouse
  • Identity Proof
  • Address Proof
  • Joint passport-size photographs
  • Joint bank account details/passbook
  • Income Certificate (if required by your state)
  • Mobile number
  • Any additional documents required by the State Social Welfare Department

Step 4: Visit Your State Social Welfare Department

  • Husband’s details
  • Wife’s details
  • Marriage details
